This session covers all the basics of managing information and records in an electronic environment. We will review managing electronic information in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as UVA policies, standards, and procedures. Topics include security classifications, retention requirements, official records versus reference copy, and information accessibility and preservation.

This 30-minute class is part of a six-part series covering specific topics in managing information and records in the electronic environment. Attendees can complete all sessions or only those sessions to help with specific issues or transformations.
