Automating Retention
Employees have the ability to automate retention and disposition in Microsoft products, including Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint, by using retention labels. RIM has configured the labels to match the most common retention periods.
When a label is applied, Microsoft will calculate retention based on the number of years applied to that label from the date of the item's creation. The item will be automatically deleted, with no notice to the user, when retention is met.
You do not need to complete a certificate of records destruction for records deleted by a retention label.
